New York Knicks: Derrick Rose out vs. Spurs due to health and safety protocols

Derrick Rose will not be available for the Knicks vs. the San Antonio Spurs as his team placed him in the league’s health and safety protocols.

The veteran was dealt to the Knicks on Feb. 8, and made his presence felt immediately with his scoring off the bench, In 10 games with the Knicks, he has averaged 12.5 points, 4.9 assists and 2.6 rebounds.

Rose has also an immediate impact in New York’s record as the Knicks improved to over 50-percent since the Pistons shipped him for Dennis Smith Jr. and a second-round pick.

With Rose out and Elfrid Payton managing a hamstring injury, rookie Immanuel Quickley and Frank Ntilikina should receive a pump in their minutes going forward.

The Spurs are also expected to be undermanned due to health and safety protocols and several other reasons on Tuesday.

In particular, Rudy Gay, LaMarcus Aldridge, Derrick White, Devin Vassell and Quinndary Weatherspoon are all unvailable, per Tom Orsborn.
