D’Angelo Russell did not follow the Minnesota Timberwolves in the two-game road trip that starts on Sunday vs Toronto Raptors.
As a result, Russell will miss the third game in the row for the Wolves, who considered the scoring guard a day-to-day. Russell ruled out for the second time this season, as he battled a quad issue for weeks.
Ricky Rubio will see an uptick in his minutes and usage as Minnesota is trying to get back in the winning column after the loss to the Clippers Wednesday.
Jaylen Nowell, who is on a good run lately, will also see his minutes increasing due to Russell’s absence. The Timberwolves have the worst record (6-19) in the West.
