Miami Heat could look to improve their roster as the trade deadline of March 25 is approaching. The Heat would like to ad more depth in forward position.
It appears Rudy Gay of the San Antonio Spurs and Nemanja Bjelica of the Sacramento Kings have sparked the team’s interest.
“And with Spoelstra reluctant to play Achiuwa alongside Adebayo at this point, Miami likely will need to find power forward help before the March 25 trade deadline,” Jackson wrote.
“Sacramento’s Nemanja Bjelica and San Antonio’s Rudy Gay remain potential targets, according to people in touch with the Heat’s front office.”
Bjelica returned to the Kings’ rotation recently. He scored 25 points vs. Miami on Thursday and he is ca reer 38.8-percent shooter from the three-point range.
On the other hand, Rudy Gay is an important rotational piece of the San Antonio Spurs averaging 11.3 points on 36.6-percent shooting from deep.
With the Heat sitting at 12-17 and in desperate need of a spark to turn the season around, the front office will likely look to upgrade their roster in hope of saving the season.
