The Los Angeles Lakers will play the rest of the games in the first part of the regular season without Anthony Davis. The Lakers’ superstar underwent an MRI earlier today that revealed a calf strain and a re-aggravation of the right Achilles tendonosis.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the LA franchise will take a conservative approach on Davis’ injury expecting to re-evaluate his status after two to three weeks.
This could mean that Davis could be available again after the All-Star break. In that case, the Lakers are looking the bigger picture, which includes the postseason.
Kyle Kuzma and Markieff Morris are expected to receive minutes in the absence of Anthony Davis, while Montrez Harrell could also cover for him is some cases.
Davis will be re-evaluated, when he return to LA, however the Lakers will look to preserve him for later. Frank Vogel will definitely see the situation as a chance to try different combinations and lineups.
