Los Angeles Lakers are expected to waive guard Quinn Cook before his contract with the team becomes guaranteed Wednesday, per the Los Angeles Times.
Cook has been out of the Lakers’ rotation this season. Cook has appeared in 16 games this season, averaging 3.9 minutes and 2.1 points per game.
He was a member of last season’s NBA championship team, while he also won two titles with the Golden State Warriors, before joining the Lakers.
As the LA Times report states, the Lakers are not expected to fill the two available roster spots immediately after releasing the veteran guard.
The franchise is expected to search for potential additions in their front-court through the trade or the buyout market with Anthony Davis expected to miss time due to injury.
