After dropping 40 points against the Kings, Kyrie Irving is sidelined for Wednesday’s contest vs. Suns. The Brooklyn Nets announced Irving is out with lower back tightness.
It seems that his absence is more a precaution and the Nets hope to have him available in the next game vs. the Lakers. Irving is coming off a 40-point performance shooting 9-out-of-11 from deep.
With the star guard out, the Nets will rely on James Harden to carry the team with his scoring and playmaking. Harden is bound to have a big night against a tough opponent like the Phoenix Suns.
The Suns are on a five-game winning streak coming off a huge win over the Sixers, who are the leading team in the Eastern Conference.
Kevin Durant is also out with a hamstring injury so extra minutes will abound for Bruce Brown, Tyler Johnson and Landry Shamet.
